Mohammad Mahdi Taskhiri made the remarks Monday in the 9th round of meetings between the Center for Interreligious Dialogue and Civilization and (World Council of Churches (WCC).
Extremism has brought about concern for peace-seekers, he said.
'We believe in uprooting whatever causes terrorism in the world,' he added.
Tskkhiri pointed to the logistic and financial supports as the main factors in increasing the destructive phenomenon.
He also referred to ideological and theoretical basics as other factors contributing terrorism to grow.
The events aim at reviewing the role of religious trainings in bringing up moderate and extremist forces and presenting religious patterns to promote violence in the society, he added.
