Hamas envoy appeals to int'l community to support Palestine vis-a-vis Israeli occupation

He made the remarks in an exhibition about Gaza Children.

He expressed indignation at Israeli war crimes and crimes against humanity perpetrated since July 8 until August 24 and said that the Israeli authorities violated the Geneva Conventions during 50-day war and carried disproportionate bombardments on Gaza from the air, land and the sea which amounted to genocide against the Palestinian people.

The Hamas representative said that Israeli leaders must understand that Israel is an occupying entity and the Palestinian resistance movement is involved in legitimate campaign to liberate their motherland from the Israeli occupation.

He said that the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank are suffering from the Israeli state terrorism and that the Muslims should continue their political and cultural campaign against the occupying regime.

He asked the international community and the Muslim states to help reconstruction of Gaza.

Zionist regime pounded the Gaza Strip for about 50 days killing more than 2,000 Palestinians and injured more than 10,000 others.

Thousands of homes have also been destroyed in the Israeli bombardments on Gaza.
