Iran FM leaves Geneva for Tehran after two-day trip

Geneva, IRNA – Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has left the Swiss city of Geneva after an official trip which saw him attending three international meetings, including the 55th session of the UN Human Rights Council as well as was holding several bilateral meetings with his foreign counterparts.

According to IRNA correspondent, after a two-day trip to Geneva, Amirabdollahian left this city for Tehran on Tuesday night.

The top Iranian diplomat who arrived in Geneva on Sunday attended several multilateral meetings, met with Mirjana Spoljaric, the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross. While describing the humanitarian situation in Palestine as very worrying, he thanked the ICRC for its efforts regarding Palestine and Gaza.

In his speech at the UN Human Rights Council on the same day, Amirabdollahian highlighted genocide and crimes being committed by the Israeli regime against thee defenseless Palestinian in Gaza.

We must accept that the world is facing the most shameful moral and human crisis, which is the result of 80 years of support and indulgence towards the colonial occupation of Palestine, the continuous deadly violation and disregard to Palestinians’ right to self-determination, he told the gathering.

He especially accused the United States and its western allies of supporting the ongoing Israeli bloodshed in Gaza by supplying the occupation regime with arms and money.

During his two-day visit to Geneva, the Iranian foreign ministers sat down with 11 foreign counterparts and representatives to exchange views on bilateral, regional and international issues.
