He made the remarks in a meeting in Tehran on Monday with Iran’s Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, Ali Darabi, after returning from Hamedan.
He has traveled to Iran for evaluating the case of international registration of the historical landscape from Hagmatāna to Hamedan.
The UNESCO expert said that he had compiled good information about the site.
He noted that the site is human-centered as he said people preserved their old traditions in bazaar and livelihood could be felt in the place.
The Iranian deputy minister said for his part that Hagmatāna dates back to the Media era and is important as it represents different historical periods of Iran.
"We are looking forward to the international registration of Hagmatāna and the people of Iran appreciate people who protect their culture and civilization," he said.
