In a report released on Tuesday, the TIC also pointed to a 57% progress in efforts to launch Iran's National Information Network (NIN), a service also known in the country as the domestic internet.
The report said Iran's IP capacity will increase by 20 terabits per second (Tbps) this calendar year by relying on domestic resources and by another 15 Tbps through improving the existing network infrastructure.
TIC 's report also referred to a 50% increase in the active capacity of internet bandwidth in Iran over the last calendar year.
