Iran consulate general condemns terror attacks in Pakistan’s Baluchistan

Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s consulate general in Pakistan’s city of Quetta issued a statement on Monday, condemning a spate of terrorist attacks that hit different areas in Baluchistan Province the previous day.

The Iranian diplomatic mission called the attacks inhumane, and extended its condolences to the people and government of Pakistan.

The mission also expressed sympathy with the victims of the attacks that left at least six Pakistani soldiers dead.

Many more, including civilians, were wounded in the attacks that hit different locations in Baluchistan Province, including the provincial capital Quetta.

According to Pakistani officials, a total of nine attacks, including bomb blasts and shootouts, took place.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif condemned the violence in Baluchistan located in the southwest of Pakistan.

Local media have reported that the terrorist group, Balochistan Liberation Army, claimed responsibility for the Sunday attacks.
