Ways for strengthening Iran-Pakistan trade cooperation surveyed

Tehran, IRNA – Pakistan's finance minister emphasizing the high significance of his country's relations with Iran, said Islamabad is ready for eliminating obstacles in way of boosting trade cooperation with Iran.

Ishaq Dar, who is meanwhile a senator of his country, on Friday night was the host of Iran Ambassador to Pakistan Seyyed Mohamad-Ali Hosseini said that the two countries' relations are deep-rooted, intimate, and with lots of old mutual commonalities.

"Pakistan has always attached great importance to its relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, but the level of our bilateral trade is unfortunately not satisfactory at all, and therefore, Pakistan is ready for taking any necessary sept to eliminate the obstacles in the way of strengthening of trade cooperation," said the senator.

The Iranian ambassador, too, appreciating the Pakistani government's economic policies, said, "The historical relations of these two neighbors and their cultural and political interactions necessitate having an economic bilateral cooperation to match that level, which means a much better and stronger annual trade volume."

Ambassador Hosseini added that the two countries have great potential for broadening and deepening economic cooperation, especially in energy, commerce, and other fields.
