Iran FM's aide, UN envoy agree on need for intensive efforts to prolong ceasefire in Yemen

Tehran, IRNA – A senior advisor of Iran's foreign minister and UN secretary general's special envoy for Yemen affairs agreed on Tuesday on the need for intensive efforts to extend ceasefire in Yemen.

In continuation of the Islamic Republic of Iran's consultations for peaceful resolving of the war in Yemen, Ali Asghar Khaji had a videoconference meeting with Hans Grundberg, the UN secretary general's special envoy for Yemen affairs.

The two sides agreed in their talks about the need to extend the existing ceasefire in the war-stricken Yemen.

In related news, Senior Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Asghar Khaji also on Monday had a phone talk with the top Yemeni Salvation Government Negotiator and Ansarullah Spokesman Mohammed Abdusalam during which the two sides announced readiness for the extension of the ceasefire, and the need for resolving the humanitarian issues there.
