“We will never forget that the Iranians stood side by side with us, and therefore, we do not consider the Iranians just a friendly nation, but our own brothers,” said Minister Lubanah Mshaweh.
She said that the history of bilateral cooperation between Syria and Iran goes far back in history, and during these new years, "we might be witnesses to the emergence of the most era of bilateral cooperation, as our bloods are mixed in recent history".
“We are both nations that have shared enemies, and there are many factors that connect our two nations,” added the Syrian official.
The culture minister announced her country’s readiness for any kind of cultural cooperation with Iran, and especially with Fars province, adding that Iran’s tourism ministry must be a very important office, since Iran is a great country for the tourism industry with its natural diversities and its rich historical monuments.
Fars province governor, too, said in the meeting that Iran and especially Fars province is ready for expansion of cultural relations with Syria, and also scientific and technological cooperation.
Governor-general Mohammad-Sadeq Imaniyeh added, “Our best friend among the Islamic and non-Islamic counties is Syria today.”
He referred to the cultural and historical heritage of Fars province in general and Shiraz city in particular, arguing, “Probably one of the oldest regions of the Islamic Iranian civilization is Fars province with its very ancient and precious monuments and literature.”
Imaniyeh said that most of the internationally-renowned and greatest poets of the world, namely Hafez and Saadi, as well as the founder of Arabic grammar, Sibeveyh, and one of the greatest philosophers of the world Mullah Sardra, all belong to Fars land and Shiraz.
