The Global Times of China website reported that a group of Taiwan residents on Tuesday night staged protest rally in the streets leading to Grand Hyatt Hotel, where Nancy Pelosi is residing during here controversial visit to Taiwan.
A protester told the Global Times that the protesters who are several groups in different streets leading to the hotel intend to stage broader protest rallies in Taipei.
The US Congress Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit is taking place under such conditions that the Washington-Beijing tension level has aggravated more than ever before over Taiwan issue.
The spokesman of China Foreign Ministry on Tuesday in response to a question that if Nancy Pelosi will insist on visiting Taiwan, what will Beijing’s probable reaction be, said diplomatically, and yet threateningly: The Americans will pay the price for harming China’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty.
