Kazemi Qomi made the comment in a series of tweets he posted following his Friday meeting with Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in Islamabad.
According to the tweets, the Iranian official and the top Pakistani diplomat discussed a range of issues including the situation in Afghanistan, which is a neighbor to both Pakistan and Iran.
Kazemi Qomi said that their talks focused on the fight against terrorism as well as the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan coupled with security and development there.
Grounds are laid for cooperation between Iran and Pakistan on Afghanistan, he said, adding that both Tehran and Islamabad believe that the participation of all Afghan ethnic groups in the formation of a government there, is the main way out of the current situation in that country.
According to the Iranian official, they also discussed the Tashkent International Conference on Afghanistan, which is set to take place on July 25-26 and will be attended by delegates from more than 20 countries.
In the Friday meeting, the top Pakistani diplomat announced his country’s strong determination to promote peace in Afghanistan, noting that Tehran-Islamabad cooperation on issues such as regional security and Afghan refugees is of paramount importance.
