--Iran’s annual trade with neighbors rises by 43%
The value of Iran’s trade exchanges with its neighboring states during the previous Iranian year, which ended on March 20, stood at around $52 billion, showing a 43% increase compared to a year earlier, a deputy minister announced.
According to Iranian Deputy Economy Minister Alireza Moqaddasi, the value of the country’s trade exchanges with 15 neighboring countries in the year 1400 (March 21, 2021-March 20, 2022) surpassed $51.87 billion.
-- Iran kicks off operations to boost gas production
Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji said his ministry has started output enhancement operations in some of the country’s gas fields to supply more gas to the country’s refineries.
According to Owji, increasing the output of the gas fields is aimed at supplying the necessary feedstock for the country’s gas refineries to be able to operate at full capacity, Shana reported on Tuesday.
“Considering the capacities in the country’s gas refineries, two approaches are being followed: First, implementation of output enhancement operations at the existing gas fields, and second, development of new gas fields and the delivery of the produced gas to existing refineries,” Owji said.

Garmsar, a city in the northern province of Semnan, is located in a region that has witnessed many ups and downs throughout the history. Thanks to the presence of five Iranian ethnic groups, including Turks, Lors, Kurds, Arabs, and Gilakis, it is known as ‘Island of Tribes’.
Various types of handicrafts are produced in the city. Kilim-weaving, jajim-bafi (weaving a traditional Iranian floor covering), pottery, monabat-kari (wood carving), mo’araq-kari (wood inlaying), jewelry making, gem cutting, morvar-bafi (weaving baskets and bags from local reed) and taz’hib (illuminated manuscript) are among the major artworks created by the craftspeople of the city.
Dairy products are among the most famous souvenirs of Garmsar, along with fruits such as melon, pomegranate and fig.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Tuesday told state officials not to wait for the results of the talks in Vienna to remove sanctions on Iran, urging them to press ahead with efforts to make draconian sanctions toothless.
“In your plans, absolutely don’t wait for the nuclear negotiations and instead move forward with your work. Do not let your work be disrupted if the negotiations reach positive or semi-positive or negative results,” he told heads of the three branches of power and state officials in a meeting here.
Talks between Iran and the remaining signatories of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal have reached a final stage, but the U.S. is refusing to make a political decision on undoing past wrongs against the Islamic Republic.

Iran’s national futsal team has gained a decisive victory against the team of Turkmenistan in its second match in the Asian Championship qualifiers. Iran’s national men’s futsal team won Turkmenistan 3-0 in its second match in the Asian Championship qualifiers on Monday.
The Iranian squad trounced the team of Maldives in its first match on Sunday 17-0. Qualifiers for the Futsal Asian Cup in the central and south Asian region are being held in Kyrgyzstan’s Bishkek, while Thailand hosts the qualifiers in the east and ASEAN regions and the United Arab Emirates hosts the competitions in the west of Asia.

Controlling sand and dust storms (SDSs) requires strengthening diplomacy, and it will never be eradicated unless international institutions reach a consensus. The SDSs phenomenon is no longer an uninvited guest because it has been plaguing the country for several years and has caused problems in many provinces. According to experts, natural and human factors are involved in the occurrence and severity of this phenomenon which is mainly caused by excessive consumption of water and drying up reservoirs.
The internal dust sources are estimated at 34.6 million hectares, generating an average amount of 4.22 million tons of dust per year, about 1.460 million hectares are dried wetlands.
-- Ferries to operate Iran-Qatar route during World Cup
Iran considers operating passenger ferries to and from Qatar during the 2022 FIFA World Cup to be hosted by the neighboring state in November and December.
“Iran has considerable capacities to support and facilitate maritime traffic for [football] fans who are willing to travel between the country and Qatar during the World Cup,” the head of Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) said on Sunday. Preparations for the sea routes are expected to become finalized by late September, Ali-Akbar Safaei added.
