Condolence message of Iranian nation to Peshawar terror attacks victims conveyed

Islamabad, IRNA -- On the third day of the ISIS terrorist attack on Shiite mosque in northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar, Director General of Iran Cultural Center visited the mosque to express sympathy and condolence of the Iranian nation to the families of martyrs.

Although the funeral of about 60 people killed in the suicide attack on the Imamiah Grand Mosque in Kocha Risaldar area of Peshawar was held yesterday, there are rumors that the number of people killed in the attack has increased to more than 100.

Hospital sources and some of the families of the martyrs of the Peshawar mosque suicide bombing say that most of the injured were in a serious condition and now the number of martyrs has reached to more than 100.

The Director General of Iranian Cultural Center in Peshawar Mehran Eskandarian visited the mosque targeted by the suicide attack to express sympathy and convey the condolence message of the head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), Mohammad Mehdi Imanipour to the bereaved families.

A group of religious activists, trustees of Husseiniyahs and prominent Shiite figures in the neighborhoods of the martyrs' families welcomed the Director of the Iranian Culture Center and recited Fatiha for the martyrs.

While addressing the members of the martyrs' families, Mehran Eskandarian spoke about the martyr's reward and the results of sacrifice for Islam and humanity, fear of the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt, denial of takfir and vigilance against the conspiracy of common enemies of Muslims.

He said the pure blood of these loved ones irrigates the big tree of Islam and increases the power of Muslims against takfirism, terrorism and the enemies of the unity of the Islamic Ummah.

He also met with some Shiite leaders during a visit to the Imamiyah Grand Mosque, which was targeted by ISIS terrorists on Friday.

Iranian diplomat said the Iranian nation has sacrificed hundreds of thousands of martyrs for the freedom and independence of the Islamic homeland and is fighting against the conspiracies of the enemies of Islam and Takfiri-terrorist elements.

He said the government and the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran are with the people of Pakistan in these difficult moments and consider themselves partners in the tragedy and sorrow of the martyrdom of the oppressed worshipers.

He also visited the injured of the terrorist attack in the central hospital of the city and prayed for their speedy recovery.

Today, various Pakistani cities, including Peshawar, Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi and Quetta, witnessed large-scale demonstrations against the terrorist attack on the Shiite mosque in Peshawar.
