Iran imports 6m more doses of Sinopharm vaccine

Tehran, IRNA – The 31st COVID-19 Sinopharm vaccine supplied by the Iranian Red Crescent Society including six million doses was delivered to Health Ministry on Tuesday.

Head of Red Crescent Society Karim Hemmati said on Tuesday that the IRCS has so far imported 100,390,000 doses of vaccine.

He noted that the IRCS is ready to supply Health Ministry's needs.

Thanks to import of vaccines, Iran has recently emerged from the 5th peak of the Coronavirus spread which saw all-time high records in the number of daily deaths and new cases since the beginning of the pandemic.

The Health Ministry announced on Monday that 51,158,858 Iranians have so far received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine and 30,139,400 people have received the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, too.
