Hadi Shahdoost Shirazi said in the meeting that the province’s priority, too, is paying due attention to this issue, adding that Health tourism is one of the relative privileges of Fars province and during the recent years it has been at the focus of attention, and it is also a priority of the Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Office.
Shahdoost Shirazi said that Fars province and Shiraz are pioneers in transplant, eye, skin, hair, and beauty operations, and one of the main destinations of the Persian Gulf region countries’ health tourists with its fine hoteling, residential and historical attractions.
Sheikh Muhammad al-Balushi, for his part, said that Oman is ready for expansion of mutual cooperation with Iran in health tourism field, adding that the Iranian firms active in tourism field can easily make investments in Oman.
He said that the Omani citizens are very eager to visit Fars province, especially Shiraz city, and that is the reason why for their medical treatments, too, they prefer this province and city.
The Omani parliament member said that increasing the number of Muscat-Shiraz round flights is a necessity today, and by registering Omani companies in Shiraz the ground will be paved for making investments in various industries, including the tourism industry, in Fars province.
