Army to hold Mohammad Rasoulallah drills in south Iran

Tehran, Jan 21, IRNA - Iran's deputy army commander for coordination said on Sunday that military exercises code-named Mohammad Rasoulallah (PBUH) will be launched Monday in the country's south, southeast, and southern Makran regions and northern coastline of the Sea of Oman.

Briefing the reporters in the drills' operational theater, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said the wargames will continue for two days.

'The drills are aimed at enhancing the skill and morale of the personnel of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran, transferring the experience of veterans to the youth attending the maneuvers, evaluating the training tactics, assessing the fire power and the level of coordination between forces and bolstering the planning potentials for joint exercises and operations at all times, and boosting the defense capabilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army.”

Sayyari added that the maneuvers' operational theater will cover all the coastline of Makran region and the Sea of Oman, adding that the Army's Ground, Air, Navy, and Air Defense Forces will participate in the drills.
