The Iranian karatekas (Yeganeh Shahpari, Golnaz Shahzeidi and Erfaneh Masah) played against Egypt in the semi-finals where they were defeated by their rival 5-0.
However, Iran managed to defeat Serbia in the third place game to win the bronze medal of the competitions.
