The followings are some of the tourist destinations with cool climate in Iran according to an article by “Iran Daily”:
Located 30 kilometers to the west of Ardabil, Sarein is a small city with pleasant summer weather. The city’s green landscapes and numerous spas — which have therapeutic properties — attract many visitors during the hot days of summer.
The road to Sarein is among the most amazing to travel on — in terms of beauty, green grassy environment and surrounding mountains.
The weather in Sarein remains below 25 degrees centigrade during the summer.
Villadarreh Village in Sarein is also worth visiting during the hot summer days. The village is situated three kilometers from Sarein in a valley which is 100 meters downhill.
The natural attractions of the village, including waterfalls, ranches, colorful flowers, springs and caves, have made Villadarreh an appealing destination for eco-tourists.
Restaurants and pergolas are found a short distance from each other, where visitors can relax. The song of birds, the smell of fresh grass and cool weather create a dreamy ambiance.
Soubatan resort
Encircled with forest, lake, ranches and rivers, Soubatan is, undoubtedly, a patch of heaven on Earth. It is located in Talesh, Gilan province.
Residents of Soubatan have been livestock breeders since ancient times. Lamb is the region’s most popular souvenir, taken home by visitors. The meat of lambs, which are bred in the region are said to have therapeutic properties, as they graze on plants indigenous to the region.
Travelers interested in hiking are recommended to walk from Neor Lake, located 48 kilometers from southeast of Ardabil, to Soubatan early in the morning to enjoy an alluring environment.
Soubatan is one of undisturbed tourism attractions of Iran with changing climatic condition so that one can experience a foggy, sunny or rainy weather on a single day.
Chama Ice Cave
Located near Sheikh Ali Khan Village in Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari province, Chama Ice Cave has been identified as the coldest place in the Middle East.
Up to 50 meters of snow is found in the cave throughout the year. One cannot endure the freezing temperature of a nearby river, which runs during summer as a result of melting ice and snow.
Mineral waters
Kuhrang, in Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari province, embraces the best spas of mineral waters in the world.
It is also home to a flower named ‘inverted tulip’, which attracts many visitors during the season of blossoming.
Historical city
Chaldoran in West Azarbaijan province has been named as Iran’s coldest historical city.
Chaldoran reminds Iranians of an infamous contract signed between Ottoman Empire and Shah Ismaeil Safavi, based on which parts of Iran were ceded to Sultan Salim.
Chaldoran dates back to 500 years and hosts enchanting wetlands and green valleys.
Qare Kelissa and Thadeus Church — two ancient Armenian churches — and spas are other attractions of the city.
In one province
Southern Kerman province is home to the coldest and warmest regions concurrently.
While Shahdad Desert has been recognized as the hottest spot on Earth, Lalehzar Oasis has been identified as the coldest place in the province.
Vast plains of rose flowers are grown in Lalehzar. They are used for making rose essence or ‘golab’ — a traditional Iranian liquid with numerous therapeutic properties.
Asalem Road
Asalem-Khalkhal Road is one of the most alluring roads of Iran to travel on. If you travel once along the road, you will never forget its unique beauty.
Khalkhal city in Ardabil province is also one of the coolest cities of Iran. Khalkhal hosts a number of exemplary tourist destinations including Aznav, Andebil, Nareou Waterfall, and Karaj Village.
Karaj Village resembles Masouleh in Gilan province with its unique architectures and houses that have been constructed in stepped terraces.
