Iran’s Supreme Leader asks students to strive for innovative solutions

Tehran, IRNA - Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has called on Iranian students to become a powerful and inspiring part of society through elevated knowledge, thought, and contemplation.

"Looking at the realities should guide the young student's mind towards a direction that is closer to solving the problems," Ayatollah Khamenei said while addressing Iranian university students and representatives from student associations on Sunday as part of an annual event held at the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

The Leader called on the students to provide innovative solutions to truly achieve this fundamental objective and advance the country without material or spiritual setbacks in future.

He underlined that the three primary functions of universities include the education of scholars, the production of science, and giving direction to these two areas.

Before the Islamic Revolution, the Supreme Leader said, Iran was not an advanced country from a scientific and technological standpoint despite having excellent university professors in various fields.

While highlighting the past notions that Iranians cannot access high and precise technologies, reach high scientific positions, access the forefront of science, Ayatollah Khamenei said it is expected that students be active and sensitive about the future.

“We must enrich the country scientifically by maintaining this credibility, and of course, the Arrogant Powers do not want Iran to have this power and credibility,” he explained.

A number of students also shared their viewpoints on the country's current affairs with the Supreme Leader.

Ayatollah Khamenei pointed out that the existing shortcomings in the country are far greater than the issues raised by the students.

He further called upon the student community to organize a "work and value system", through thinking and planning, for the future of the country and draw a roadmap to achieve the objectives.

Ayatollah Khamenei regarded "a better tomorrow than today" as the fundamental goal of the Islamic Republic, emphasizing that "specific ideals must be defined" to that end.
