Israeli ships, gas platforms within range of Hezbollah missiles: Source

Tehran, IRNA- An Israeli military source has sounded the alarm about Hezbollah’s growing military capabilities, warning that the Lebanese resistance movement has obtained anti-ship missiles that pose a serious danger to the Zionist regime's naval vessels and gas installations.

Hezbollah has been bolstering its military power in recent years, obtaining advanced weaponry, including anti-ship missiles that pose a significant threat to Israeli gas platforms and ships, Israel’s Walla news website reported, citing an unnamed military source.

Furthermore, the source added, Hezbollah is seeking to acquire surface-to-air missiles to counter Israel's missile boats and fighter jets, setting its sights on the Russian-made Yakhont anti-ship missile system.

This comes as Israeli military officials have grown increasingly concerned about the possibility of Hezbollah and Palestinian resistance movements teaming up with Iran’s armed forces for joint military operations against the Zionist regime on multiple fronts.

Israel is also worried about Hezbollah's growing capabilities to collect intelligence on its maritime assets, including ships and gas infrastructure along the occupied territories' coasts, the source said.

In response, Israel has been conducting combat air patrols to monitor Hezbollah's activities at sea.

Early this month, a barrage of rockets was fired from southern Lebanon towards the occupied territories in retaliation for the Israeli regime’s violent raids against the al-Aqsa mosque in occupied al-Quds.

The rocket attack prompted Israel to hit targets in southern Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.
