The letter follows US attempts to terminate Iran’s membership in the commission.
The Iranian students called on CSW members to pay a visit to Iran so as to get familiar with the realities of the country.
“Unfortunately, it is seen for the umpteenth time that a strategic commission affiliated to the United Nations is taking a political approach under the influence of some specific governments,” the letter reads.
It questioned whether the massacre of Palestinian women and children in Sabra and Shatila, murder of Razan Ashraf al-Najjar, a 21-year-old medic, and the murder of Shireen Abu Akleh, the female reporter, are not sufficient reasons for the removal of the Zionist regime from this commission.
The suspicious death of an Iranian woman which was lately proved that the Police had no role in it has long turned into the top headline of the media, the letter said, while asking why the international media and the CSW failed to do anything in reaction to a Washington Post report which said that every week, a woman is killed by a direct gunshot of the American police.
The letter said: “As representatives of national student organizations from universities across the country of the Islamic Republic of Iran, we announce to you that the portrayal of the media against the status of women in the Islamic Republic is contrary to the truth and that the image of women's rights in Iran is under attack by media terrorism and we will not let the truth be sacrificed.”
