FM spokesman underscores Iran’s commitment to dialogue, diplomacy

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said here on Saturday that he has in France emphasized the Islamic Republic of Iran's commitment to dialogue and diplomacy as the only way ahead.

Writing about the details of his visit of France on his official Twitter page, Khatibzadeh said, "In my address at the Normandy World Peace Forum and in my meetings with my counterparts, the media, and the French think tanks, I emphasized Iran’s commitment to holding dialogues and resorting to diplomacy as the only possible path ahead."

The Foreign Ministry spokesman further reiterated that Iran has the regional anchor for peace and stability and will always continue its constructive role.

Khatibzadeh who had traveled to Paris to take part at the Normandy World Peace Forum had earlier in an interview with the French daily, Le Monde in response to a question on the recent UN General Assembly, the perspective for the nuclear negotiations, and the fact that the Iranian foreign mister had in New York announced that the negotiations will soon be resumed, said that what the Iranian foreign minister said in New York is the same thing that ever since the new government took charge has been said and heard.
