Amirabdollahian made the remarks in a meeting with Sultan bin Mohammed al-Numani, the Minister of the Royal Office in the Sultanate of Oman, in Muscat on Wednesday.
He said that exchanging delegations between Iran and Oman will pave the ground for making bilateral relations more active.
Referring to Oman's efforts aimed at facilitating a rapprochement between Iran and Saudi Arabia and its efforts to facilitate regional and international negotiations, he appreciated Muscat's role in regional dialogues.
Iran welcomes the normalization of relations with Saudi Arabia in the framework of the government's neighborhood policy and respects the principle of good neighborliness, he stated.
He also termed Iran’s unique geopolitical position as the best opportunity for transit through Iran.
Meanwhile, Mohammed al-Numani emphasized the need for development of cooperation with Iran.
He said that the recent agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia has brought peace to the region.
