Tehran, IRNA — Celebrated discus thrower Ehsan Haddadi has been elected for a four-year term as president of Iran’s Athletics Federation.

During the elections held at Iran’s Academy Olympic in Tehran on Monday, Haddadi secured 40 out of 59 votes.

Abbasali Madih, Mehran Tishegaran, and Rouhollah Askari were the other candidates for the position. 

Haddadi is a 2012 London Olympics silver medalist and a five-time continental champion.
