Iranian thrower Haddadi earns 2020 Olympic quota

Tehran, May 4, IRNA - Iran discus thrower Ehsan Haddadi winning gold medals booked the ticket for 2020 Summer Olympics.

Haddadi could break the record of Olympic record which was 66 meter.

Earlier, Haddadi won gold as well as his sixth Asian title with a throw of 65.95 meters in the competitions in the 23rd Asian Athletics Championships in Qatar.

Haddadi had already claimed a gold medal in Triton Invitational in Chula Vista, Southern California, the US, with a throw of 67.19m, in which Sam Mattis won the silver and Reggie Jagers win the third place.

The 2020 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XXXII Olympiad and commonly known as Tokyo 2020, is an upcoming international multi-sport event that is scheduled to take place from July 24 to August 9 2020 in Tokyo, Japan.
