The World Athletics Federation approved Iranian runner Mehdi Pirjahan’s quota at Men's 400m Hurdles category so that Iran's track and field with four athletes will participate in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Iran’s Pirjahan, who set a record of 49,33 seconds in the 400m hurdles category, won the Olympic quota by being ranked 34th in the world rankings.
Earlier, Ehsan Haddadi, Hassan Taftiyan, and Farzaneh Fasihi had earned quotas for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
The Tokyo 2020 Olympic track and field competitions will be held from July 30 to August 8, 2021.
