Covering an area of 49,000 square meters, the new terminal in Kish is the third largest airport terminal in Iran.
The 4-storey terminal is located at a height of over 31 meters above sea level and is equipped with 48 passenger check-in counters, a smart system for transferring passenger baggage, advanced airport machinery, 10 escalators, 12 elevators, and a parking lot with the capacity of 520 vehicles.
The construction of the project began in April 2013. The government has spent 200 trillion rials (nearly $40 million) to finish the project.
The new terminal is considered the most advanced airport terminal in the Islamic Republic of Iran. Authorities said the old terminal of the Kish International Airport will be utilized for international flights.
