Iran’s crude output rises by 600k bpd: NIOC

The CEO of National Iranian Oil Company announced the daily increase of 600,000 barrels of crude oil production in the current government and said, “This year’s plan is to increase production and use various measures in line with this issue.”
Mohsen Khojasteh-Mehr stated that we have a gas shortage in the country, so if we don’t have investment and new technology, we will have a shortage in the oil sector as well.
He said 50 percent of the research budget of the Ministry of Oil is dedicated to the National Iranian Oil Company, of which 50 percent is allocated to universities, and now we are cooperating with universities in a problem-oriented way.

-- Completion of Shalamcheh-Basra railway after 20-year spell

During a meeting between Iranian Roads and Urban Development Minister Mehrdad Bazrpash and his Iraqi counterpart Razak Muhibis al-Saadawi in Tehran, the two sides made an agreement on the completion of the Shalamcheh-Basra railway.
During the meeting between Bazrpash and the Iraqi visiting delegation, a decision was made regarding the Shalamcheh-Basra railway, with a length of 32 kilometers and the construction of a movable bridge.

The deputy for Iran’s Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization departed on Monday for Saudi Arabia to explore the technical issues before the next Hajj pilgrimage.
Prior to his departure, Gholamreza Rezaei told IRNA that he was heading to Saudi Arabia to explore the technicalities regarding the kitchens’ readiness to cook for Iranian pilgrims in Saudi Arabia, among other issues.

Iranian film ‘Parisa’ will be competing at the Festival del cinema Cefalù in Italy. In its sixth international screening, Muhammad-Reza Rahmani’s fourth directorial experience will represent Iran at the 2023 edition of the festival.
“Parisa is a young attractive girl who works as a model for cosmetics brands. However, an anonymous person pours acid on her face resulting her to lose her beauty and one of her eyes,” a synopsis of the film reads.

--  Armenia Wants to Become Operator in Iran’s Chabahar Port

TEHRAN – Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has set up an inter-agency task force to launch a new international cargo transportation route and become an operator at Iran’s Chabahar port.
The decree, which was posted on the government’s website, aims to organize a multimodal high-speed route for international cargo transportation via Armenia, Armenian News Agency ARKA reported.

--  Iran Urges West to Strop Procrastination

Iran on Monday said it is possible to salvage an agreement on reviving its nuclear agreement if Western parties, particularly the U.S., put an end to repeated delays.
An agreement “is possible both in term of the technical and political aspects”, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said.
“The other sides, especially the U.S., have procrastinated” on reviving the deal, he said, expressing hope that they would show “political determination” for a committed return to its implementation.

-- Iran to host international conference on new world order

Tehran will host an international conference on the emerging new world order on May 10-11, General Esmail Ahmadi Moqaddam announced on Monday. 

Moqaddam, the former police chief who is currently the head of Iran’s National Defense University, said Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf will deliver opening remarks at the conference. 

--  Iran launches international medal to honor Ferdowsi experts

The Iranian Society of Cultural Works and Luminaries (ISCWL) announced on Monday that it has established an international medal to honor Ferdowsi experts from all over the world. 

Experts with distinguished studies on Ferdowsi, the poet of the epic Persian masterpiece Shahnameh, will be decorated with the medal, the first of which will be awarded on Ferdowsi Day in 2024, ISCWL director Mahmud Shalui said on Sunday during a press conference held to brief the media about the programs the society designed to celebrate this year’s Ferdowsi Day, which will fall on May 15.

The fifth edition of the Export Potential Exhibition of the Islamic Republic of Iran (Iran Expo 2023) delivers an opportunity to showcase the country’s tourism potential, the deputy tourism minister has said. 

The event provides a unique opportunity and a favorable environment for showcasing the real Iran along with its extensive tourism capabilities, Ali-Asghar Shalbafian explained on Sunday.
