-- Tehran’s air quality plunges into unhealthy levels

An increase is expected in the concentration of pollutants in urban and high-traffic areas of Tehran, particularly from December 2 until the morning of Wednesday, December 6, announced the Meteorological Department of Tehran Province.
Furthermore, based on forecast maps and analysis of synoptic patterns, the weather condition in Tehran Province is projected to be clear to partly cloudy over the next five days, occasionally accompanied by mild winds, and moderate winds in the highlands.

--  Iran, Russia, China to hold joint naval drill in Persian Gulf

Naval forces from the Islamic Republic of Iran, Russia and China are set to stage a joint naval exercise in the Persian Gulf, where the three powerhouses will carry out large-scale maritime maneuvers involving various divisions of their military forces.
Navy Commander Rear Admiral Shahram Irani told the state-run Islamic Republic of Iran News Network (IRINN) television news channel on Friday that Iranian, Chinese and Russian forces will jointly practice exercises during the 2024 Marine Security Belt naval war game.

-- Two IRGC officers killed in Israeli attack in Syria

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said two of its officers serving as military advisers in Syria were killed in Israel’s attacks on the Arab country. The IRGC in a statement on Saturday identified the two forces as Mohammad Ali Ataee Shoorche and Panah Taqizadeh, who were killed during an advisory mission in Syria.
The IRGC said in the statement that the two servicemen have been martyred against a backdrop of the relentless and barbaric crimes the fake Zionist regime has been committing against Gaza, with the blatant support of the US and a number of European governments, which have killed thousands of Palestinians in an unequal and unfair war.

-- Japan, Iran to Draw Up Cultural Cooperation Roadmap

Iran and Japan have decided to prepare a draft agreement on cultural cooperation between the two countries.
The decision was made during a meeting between Head of the Islamic Culture and Communication Organization Muhammad Mehdi Imanipour and head of Japan’s Agency for Cultural Affairs Tokura Saichi in Tokyo.
Imanipour has traveled to Tokyo to attend the third round of religious dialogues between Islam and Shintoism in Japan. Iran’s plenipotentiary ambassador in Japan Peyman Sa’adat, special advisor to the Iranian minister of culture and Islamic guidance and secretary of the Supreme Council of the Organization of Islamic Culture and Communication Hussein Divsalar and cultural advisor of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Japan Ali Saadat Qoliazar also attended the meeting.

--  Iran, Turkey Target Transporting One Million Tonnes of Cargo Via Rail

The chief executive of the Railways of the Islamic Republic of Iran (RAI) said Tehran and Ankara have targeted transporting one million tonnes of cargo via rail network between the two countries in the next Iranian calendar year (to start March 20, 2024).
Speaking in a joint meeting with Director General of Turkish State Railways Hasan Pezük and General Manager and Chairman of Turkey’s RAILWAYS Company Ufuk Yalçın, Iran’s Deputy Roads Minister Miad Salehi said that transporting one million tons of freight via rail between Tehran and Ankara is on the agenda.

--  Navy Unveils Vertical Take-Off and Landing Drone

The Islamic Republic of Iran Navy on Saturday unveiled a domestically developed and manufactured vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) drone, alongside a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) that can undertake a variety of marine operations autonomously.
The indigenous military achievements were put on display during an exhibition attended by Chief Commander of the Iranian Army, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, and a number of high-ranking military figures and state officials here.

--  Mohsen Kaveh named Iran freestyle wrestling coach

 Mohsen Kaveh was named as new head coach of Iran freestyle wrestling team on Saturday. He replaced Pejman Dorostkar, who stepped down as head coach of the national team earlier in the day.

Dorostkar had been appointed as Team Melli head coach after the 2020 Olympic Games. Kaveh, who was serving as freestyle team’s technical manager, will lead the team in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

--  Iran celebrates self-sufficiency in producing paper for textbooks

Iran has celebrated a significant accomplishment in achieving self-sufficiency by producing its own paper for the country's textbooks. 

The celebration took place at the Mazandaran Wood & Paper Industries (MWPI) in Sari, located in the northern province of Mazandaran on Friday. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Mohammad-Mehdi Esmaeili, Iran's Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, along with a number of cultural figures and members of parliament from the province.

--  Loading, unloading of goods in ports up 7% in 8 months on year

 The loading and unloading of goods in the ports of Iran increased by seven percent in the first eight months of the present Iranian calendar year (March 21-November 21), as compared to the same period in the past year, the country’s Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) announced.

As the PMO reported, 153,871,295 tons of commodities were loaded and unloaded in the ports during the eight-month period.
