Tehran, IRNA – A prominent member of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council, Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, has attributed responsibility for the sinking of the vessel Rubymar to British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his government.

This senior Yemeni official said on his X account that Sunak and his government were responsible for the sinking of the UK-owned Rubymar.

Al Houthi also said that suggested that Sunak could potentially salvage the Rubymar by allowing aid trucks into Gaza.

Earlier, on Saturday, Al-Houthi had reported that the Rubymar, which had been targeted by Houthi forces the previous month, had sunk in the Red Sea. He also issued a warning about the environmental risks posed by the ship’s cargo of fertilizer.
