Tehran, IRNA -- Iran's special envoy to Afghanistan Hassan Kazemi-Qomi says that a regional contact group established to help bring peace to Afghanistan can reach good results if members follow the right path.

Kazemi-Qomi wrote on his page in social networks on Wednesday that the fact that ruling Taliban government in Afghanistan has expressed readiness to attend the upcoming meeting of the contact group in Doha is a good opportunity for finding how much the initiative is serious in finding a solution to the problems of the country.

The UN-sponsored meeting in Doha will be participated by representatives of various countries and will debate proposals by the US about Afghanistan's re-admission to the international community.

The participants will also discuss whether the UN should appoint a special envoy for Afghanistan.
