Kazemi-Qomi made the remarks on his account on the X written about his meeting held in Doha with the head of Taliban’s political office in Qatar Suhail Shaheen, IRNA reported on Sunday.
The Iranian official described the meeting with Suhail Shaheen, who is a proposed representative for Afghanistan’s seat in the United Nations, as transparent and fruitful.
Already, Kazemi-Qomi has met with the European Union (EU) envoy for Afghanistan and stressed in the meeting that if Europe was willing to help the people of Afghanistan, it should not hold “humanitarian aid” hostage to its “regional relations.”
In a related development, the Iranian official held talks with the UK special representative for Afghanistan in Doha.
A two-day meeting sponsored by the UN was held in the Qatari capital on February 14 with the participation of representatives and diplomats from 25 countries.
The ruling Taliban government in Afghanistan did not attend the meeting officially as its pre-conditions for presence were not accepted.
