Zimbabwe is the third and final leg of Raisi’s African tour that began early on Wednesday and has taken him to Uganda and Kenya.
Raisi arrived in Harare at noon local time Thursday from Uganda.
Following the official welcoming ceremony at the Harare airport, Raisi and Mnangagwa will hold private talks. Delegations from the two countries will also hold joint meetings.
This is the first African tour of the Iranian president since he took office in August 2021.
The trip also marks the first by an Iranian president to Africa in 11 years.
Raisi has said that his African trip is in line with his administration’s foreign policy agenda aimed at expanding relations with aligned and friendly countries across the world.
The Iranian delegation, led by the president, has signed a number of cooperation agreements with Kenyan and Ugandan officials.
