Tehran, June 1, IRNA – Iran-Switzerland Chamber of Commerce Chairman Sharif Nezam-Mafi said that agricultural goods and medical components topped the list of Iran’s exports to Switzerland, as trading between the two nations has increased since March.

Switzerland has never cut ties with Iran under any circumstances during the last decades and has maintained its political and economic relationship despite the US sanctions pressure.

It established the Swiss Humanitarian Trade Arrangement (SHTA) channel during the US maximum pressure period during which even trading goods with Iran was impeded.

Iran’s private sector has experienced a real increase in trading with Switzerland in the last two months, Nezam-Mafi told IRNA’s economic correspondent on Monday, adding that Swiss market has gained a better understanding of Iranian goods.

Grain, medicines, and medical equipment were among prioritized goods being imported from Switzerland in the last two months, according to Nezam-Mafi.

He also said that agricultural goods and medical equipment components were in the top of Iranian exports to the country, followed by semi-industrial goods, plastics, Golab (rose water) and spices.

Nazem-Mafi previously said that the trading between Iran and Switzerland has a capacity to reach 10 billion dollars.

Switzerland entered the top five trade partners of Iran in the last Persian month (April 10-May 10), with 359,000 tons of traded goods worth 283 million dollars which suggest a 2,642-percent increase in weight and a 2,061-percent increase in value.
