Tehran, May 21, IRNA - Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh in a message reiterated that Palestine will be free.

"Congratulations to our Palestinian sisters & brothers for the historic victory," Khatibzadeh wrote in his Twitter account on Friday.

"Your resistance forced the aggressor to retreat," he added.

"Referendum will be held. Till then, PROUD to support your just resistance," he noted.

 "Palestine will be free," Khatibzadeh reiterated.

Earlier, addressing the UNGA session, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said: "Iran reaffirms its strong support for and solidarity with the just cause of Palestine and reaffirms its commitment to continue supporting the Palestinian people in their quest to achieve their inalienable rights and legitimate national aspirations, including their right to self-determination, freedom and independence in their State of Palestine with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital."
