Islamabad, Nov 18, IRNA -- Pakistan has conducted training launch of surface to surface ballistic missile Shaheen-1, a day after India conducted first night trial of Agni-II missile, which could prompt new arms race in region.

According to Pakistan army’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations ISPR, the ballistic missile is capable of delivering all types of warheads up to range of 650 kilometers.

The launch was aimed at testing operational readiness of Army Strategic Forces Command, ensuring Pakistan's credible minimum deterrence.

In August, Pakistan had successfully carried out the night training launch of Ghaznavi, a surface to surface ballistic missile.
