Islamabad, Nov 24, IRNA - Payame Noor University of Iran and Pakistan’s Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for building cooperation.

President of Payame Noor University Mohammad Reza Zamani and Vice Chancellor AIOU Dr. Zia-Ul-Qayyum signed the MoU.

According to the MoU, both the universities would collaborate in the field of science, facilitate the joint cooperation between the faculty members of the two universities and promote Persian Language and Literature.

Mohammad Reza Zamani also visited different departments of Allama Iqbal Open University. He said there is need of enhancing cooperation between Payame Noor University and other universities of the world.

Earlier Payame Noor University had signed MoUs with Pakistan’s University of Punjab, Government College University, Lahore College for Women University and Virtual University to enhance cooperation.

Payame Noor University is a public university system and one of the largest universities in Iran, and a mega university in world, with its headquarters in Tehran, 31 provincial centers, 500 local study centers, other campuses around the country, and an International Study Center located in the headquarters in Tehran.
Established in 1988, the university is a legal body under the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.
