Funeral of Iranian Assyrian war-time soldier in Tehran
Photos depict funeral ceremony for an Assyrian soldier – Johnny Bet Oshana – who was martyred during the 1980-88 Iraqi imposed war against Iran and whose remains were discovered and returned home after 39 years. The funeral ceremony started after the Tehran Friday prayers on April 28, 2023. Bet Oshana's remains were transferred to St Joseph's Cathedral in Tehran before being buried in a cemetery in Eslamshahr, southwest of Tehran. Bet Oshana had been martyred on March 1985 in an area located to the east of Iraq’s Tigris River where he went missing. (Photos by IRNA/Payam Sani)

Leader sends message to funeral ceremony on unidentified martyrs in Iran
Tehran, IRNA –Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has extended a message on the occasion of the burial ceremony of 250 unidentified wartime martyrs, which is being held nationwide today.
