Authorities in Iran’s West Azarbaijan province have opened Tamarchin border crossing in the town of Piranshahr on the border with northern Iraq. Arbaeen pilgrims, mainly from Iran’s northwestern provinces and even from countries like Turkiye and Azerbaijan, can now use Tamarchin to cross into Iraq, which helps them cut the time and cost of their trip.
