Traditional raisin production in Iran's Kurdistan

It is time for making raisin in western Iranian province of Kurdistan as depicted in photos taken on September 12, 2023. Villages of Kurdistan produce 200 metric tons of golden raisins per year using a traditional method known as Bulav. In this method, raisins are swamped in a mixture of boiled water and wood ash, called Khoushab, before being dried for 15 days. (IRNA photos/Mosleh Pirkhezranian)
