Iranian farmers in the city of Taft, Yazd Province, are busy harvesting pomegranates these days.
The harvesting time begins in the early days of the Iranian calendar month of Aban (started on Oct. 23) and lasts for nearly 20 days. Between 10 to 15 tons of pomegranates are harvested during this time from the 1,250-hectare area under cultivation in Taft. The pomegranate produced in the central Iranian city can be kept for more than five months. (IRNA Photos/Majid Jarrahi)
