Quri Gol Lake, which means (dry lake in Azeri language), is located 30 km southeast of Tabriz in northwestern Iran. Due to its environmental importance, it is one of the international resorts registered under the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands of International Importance. Despite the efforts of the East Azerbaijan Department of Environmental in preserving and reviving Quri Gol Lake, due to reduced precipitation in winter and spring, the water level of the lake is now lower than the last ten years, and, thus, the number of migratory birds visiting it has decreased.
