The office of Mohammad Javad Bahonar, Iran's then Prime Minister, was bombed on August 30, 1981 by the People's Mujahedin (MEK), better known as Monafeqeen (hypocrats) in Iran . The bombing led to the death of the Prime Minister and Mohammad Ali Rajaei, the then President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as six other government officials.
