--- Iran reports major surge in cargo transit via Turkmen border
Iranian railway officials have reported a major surge in the transit of cargo through a key crossing in the northeastern border with Turkmenistan.
Head of Iran’s local railway branch in Golestan Province Mohsen Etemad said on Monday that loading and unloading of cargo at Incheh Borun crossing reached an average record high of 40-65 wagons per day.
Incheh Borun mainly processes cargo transit to and from Iran to Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
-- Iran bans imports of French cars unless damage redressed
Iran has banned the imports of French cars until France’s automobile manufacturers, namely Renault, Peugeot and Citroen, compensate for the damage caused by leaving the Islamic Republic.
The withdrawal imposed huge expenses on Iran’s automobile and parts manufacturing industry and left many investments in ruins after the U.S. imposed new sanctions in August 2018, targeting the Islamic Republic’s car industry, trade in gold and other precious metals, and purchases of U.S. dollars.

The city of Mashhad, the capital city of the northeastern province of Khorasan Razavi, is centered on the vast holy Shrine of Imam Reza (PBUH), the eighth Imam of Shia Muslims, with golden domes and minarets that are floodlit at night.
The Tomb of Khajeh Rabi’, a close companion of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Imam Ali (PBUH), is located in Mashhad. The site is well-known to the people of Mashhad and the pilgrims traveling to the city.

-- Iran Taking Retaliatory Measures Against IAEA
Iran said Monday it is taking retaliatory measures against the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) over a “politically-motivated” resolution drafted by the U.S. and its European allies.
The United States, Britain, France and Germany had on Thursday brought the motion adopted by the UN agency – the second of its kind within six months.
-- Iranian Taekwondokas Bag 3 Medals in Mexico
Iran taekwondo athletes have claimed three medals in the 2022 World Taekwondo Championships in Mexico. Reza Kalhor and Sajjad Mardani ranked third in the weight category of -68kg and +87kg, respectively.
Also, Mehran Barkhordari received a bronze medal in the weight category of +80 kg in the event. In the tournament, 755 contenders from 120 countries competed for world titles. The 25th edition of the World Taekwondo Championships was held in Guadalajara, Mexico from November 13 to 20.
-- IMIDRO: Iran Exporting Coal to 38 Countries
Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) has reported that the country has exported coal to 38 countries in the world in the first seven months of the current year (from March 21 to Oct. 22).
IMIDRO said that the maximum amount of coal was exported to countries including the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Afghanistan, India, Pakistan and China.
The report put the monthly export of coal to foreign countries at $23 million.

-- “World War III” wins jury prize at Asian World Film Festival
The Iranian black comedy “World War III” has won two prizes, including the Snow Leopard Special Jury Award, at the Eighth Asian World Film Festival (AWFF).
The film’s star Mohsen Tanabandeh was picked as best actor during the closing ceremony held last Friday at Beverly Hill’s Saban Theater, Los Angeles.
-- Iran to synchronize power grids with Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia soon
Iranian Energy Minister Ali-Akbar Mehrabian has said that the project for synchronization of the country’s electricity networks with Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan is underway, Tasnim news agency reported.
Mehrabian made the remarks in the opening ceremony of the 22nd Iran International Electricity Exhibition on Sunday.
--The Statue of Nader Shah, known as Napoleon of Persia, undergoes restoration
The equestrian statue of Nader Shah Afshar, sometimes referred to as the Napoleon of Persia, in his mausoleum in Mashhad, Khorasan Razavi province, has undergone some rehabilitation works, the director of the mausoleum has said.
In this phase of the project, a special electrode has been used to weld some cracks on the statue, and then experienced restorers will clean the statue’s body, Hossein Asghari Sani explained on Monday.
