Tehran, IRNA - Iran's Minister of Interior Ahmad Vahidi says the Israeli attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus proved that the regime is the biggest stumbling block to international peace and stability.

In a statement on Wednesday, Vahidi strongly condemned the deadly airstrike carried out on Monday by the Israeli regime against the Iranian consulate in the Syrian capital, Damascus.

He emphasized that the act of assassinating Iranian military advisors once again showed that the usurping regime is the biggest stain on human history.

The minister added that the Zionist regime, which has resorted to mass murder of children and blocking food supplies to cover up its defeat in Gaza, targeted Iran’s consulate in Damascus to alleviate its extreme frustration and helplessness in the face of resistance fighters.

Vahidi further said that the attack was a blatant disregard for international law, calling on the international community to draw an "end point" to the Israeli aggression.
