Tehran, IRNA - Hamas political bureau member Mohammad Nazzal has said that the negotiations on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip in the Qatari capital city of Doha reached a deadlock because of Israel’s position.

Al Jazeera news channel on Friday cited Nazzal as saying that the Doha negotiations did not lead to any mutual understanding despite the efforts of the mediators, and as a result, the negotiations reached a deadlock due to the inconsistent positions of the Israeli regime.

Stressing that the intensification of military measures in Gaza will not help the return of Israeli captives, he added that Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu's threats to carry out operations in Rafah do not scare Hamas fighters.
