Meanwhile, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Lebanese Red Cross are delivering food supplies to villages in southern Lebanon that have been impacted by months of fighting between Israel and Hezbollah.
“Due to the absence of suppliers who used to provide essential food items to the residents there is a shortage in food supplies,” said Hatem Fakih, mayor of Al-Tiri village.
ICRC Lebanon official Shady Ramadan says the organization has been active in border communities since the starting days of the war on Gaza. “Our aim today is to alleviate the suffering of the people residing in this area,” he said.
