Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s newly-appointed Consul General to Istanbul Ahmad Mohammadi meets with Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian prior to his departure for the Turkish city.

Speaking during the meeting, which took place on Sunday, the foreign minister underscored the need for further expansion of relations with Turkiye in all areas.

He also highlighted the urgency of rendering proper consular services to Iranian nationals living in the western neighbor.   

Speaking in the meantime, the new consul general briefed the foreign minister on the plans he pursues during his tenure.

Mohammadi has previously served as the caretaker of Iran’s embassy in Colombo, Iran’s consul general in Karachi, and a staff member of Iranian embassies in Brasilia and Bern.
