Tehran, IRNA — Iran’s Special Envoy for Afghanistan Hassan Kazemi Qomi has voiced the Islamic Republic’s readiness to expand all-out relations with the neighboring country.

Kazemi Qomi made the remarks during a meeting with the Acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan's ruling Taliban government Amir Khan Muttaqi, Iran’s embassy in Kabul has posted on X cited by the IRNA on Wednesday.

During the meeting, Kazemi Qomi expressed Iran’s readiness to reinforce all-out cooperation and to render assistance to the people of Afghanistan.

Muttaqi, for his part, hailed Iran’s initiative in setting up a regional contact group to host a joint meeting of regional special envoys for Afghanistan in Kabul.

Back in December 2023, Kazemi Qomi and Muttaqi had exchanged views on the issues related to the formation of a regional contact group in a bid to resolve problems of Afghanistan.
