“Benjamin Netanyahu and his cabinet are looking for victory in any way after their successive defeats,” Rekha Ahmed Hassan, the former Deputy Foreign Minister of Egypt, told Al-Araby Al-Jadeed.
The Zionist regime “did not achieve anything except killing about 16,000 Palestinian civilians, including 6,000 children,” he added.
Meanwhile, Hassan Nafea, a professor of political science at Cairo University, said Netanyahu’s goal “is not just to destroy Hamas, but he insists on emptying Gaza of Palestinians, and the Palestinians have no choice but to resist.”
Also, Palestinian analyst Jamal Zahalaqa told Al Arabi Al-Jadeed, “The occupying cabinet does not dare to move Palestinians to Egypt against Cairo’s wish, because this is like a declaration of war.”
The remarks come as Israel resumed its bombardment of Gaza after a temporary truce deal, mediated by Egypt and Qatar, expired.
The Tel Aviv regime’s onslaught against the besieged enclave has killed more than 15,200 people, including at least 6,150 children and 4,000 women.
